Say It Aint So. Again.

Oh, no. Rabbi Manis Friedman forgot to take his meds again.

What on earth possessed you to write in to this magazine, Rabbi? Why did you not have someone check what you wrote before you sent it off? Did you actually write this? Tell me someone forged your signature to make you look bad. Please. Or do you really believe this? Do you really think we should kill women and children and innocent civilians? Following the Old Testament will bring peace to the Middle East?

How Should Jews Treat Their Arab Neighbors?

Chabad
I
don’t believe in western morality, i.e. don’t kill civilians or children, don’t destroy holy sites, don’t fight during holiday seasons, don’t bomb cemeteries, don’t shoot until they shoot first because it is immoral.

The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle). The first Israeli prime minister who declares that he will follow the Old Testament will finally bring peace to the Middle East.

First, the Arabs will stop using children as shields. Second, they will stop taking hostages knowing that we will not be intimidated. Third, with their holy sites destroyed, they will stop believing that G-d is on their side. Result: no civilian casualties, no children in the line of fire, no false sense of righteousness, in fact, no war.

Zero tolerance for stone throwing, for rockets, for kidnapping will mean that the state has achieved sovereignty. Living by Torah values will make us a light unto the nations who suffer defeat because of a disastrous morality of human invention.

Onion are you aware of the George Tamarin experiment?

It was conducted by an Israeli named George Tamarin.

What he did was take a bunch of Jewish children and question them on whether they approved of the actions of the semitic hero Joshua, when he wiped out a people (animal, children and women included), but kept their gold, copper and iron for his own people.

Over 70% of the children approved of his actions, and the ones who disproved gave odds reasons for it. For example, one child felt that Joshua should have left their homes in tact for his people to use rather than destroy them with the people. Another child felt that because Joshua and his army were Jews, by invading arabs they were making themselves impure. Almost none of them cited the genocide itself as being wrong.

However he did the same experiment among another group of Jewish children in Israel, but this time he removed the the Jewish names like Joshua, and instead said that this happened to some ancient chinese civilization. In this case, over 90% of children disapproved of Joshua actions, without even knowing it.

So what does this tell you?

The Torah has never advocated for the killing of all Arab civilians, women and children. That is reserved for Amaleik, who doesn't exist as a nation today. He's just gone off his rocker.

Torah doesn't exactly command this course of action, does it?

The truth is, there is no need for such disgrace.
Israel only needs to respond properly to each and every attach by arabs - they will get the point and s*ut up. As loong as Israel "talks" and behaves like a looser, they will treat Israel as such.

This guy scares me, though.

btw:
"How To Negotiate With Terrorists

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of a line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker introduces himself. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker asks, "why did you kill my friend?" The terrorist kills him and rapes his wife.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker says, "Stop that!" The terrorist kills him, rapes his daughter and kills his wife.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker says, "I'll pay you $1000 if you stop attacking us." The terrorist agrees to the deal, takes the $1000, and kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker appeals to the United Nations. The United Nations says the peacemaker is at fault. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker now has a gun, and threatens to use it. Other peacemakers start chanting the old 60's whine, "Can't we all just get along?" The peacemaker hesitates. The terrorist kills him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker tries to convince his peacemaker friends that the terrorists aren't going to respond to negotiations, but they insist that if he kills the terrorist it'll just make the other terrorists mad. The peacemaker reluctantly agrees to try negotiating again. The terrorist kills him., his entire family, and his neighbor's family.

A heated debate now ensues between the peacemakers who want to be nice to the terrorists and the peacemakers who believe that there can never be peace until the terrorists are all dead. While they are debating, the terrorists kill 15 more peacemakers.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker asks himself, "Which is more important: being liked by everyone, or protecting my family?" The terrorist pulls a knife to kill the peacemaker, but the peacemaker pulls a gun and kills the terrorist first. The United Nations condemns the peacemaker's use of unproportional force. Many of his peacemaker friends turn against him.

A peacemaker walks up to the left side of the line. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line. The peacemaker apologizes for what his friend did to the other terrorist. The terrorist kills him, his entire family and his neighbors, and threatens to destroy the city as soon as they develop a bigger weapon.

A peacemaker refuses to meet at the line because every time a peacemaker goes to the line the terrorist kills him. A terrorist walks up to the right side of the line and fires rockets into the peacemaker's town. The United Nations condemns the way the peacemaker provoked the terrorist by refusing to come to the line and meet with him.

Generations pass and not much changes until one day when the son of a peacemaker decides that the old strategy simply won't work. He walks up to the left side of the line a little early. As the terrorist approaches the right side of the line the peacemaker shoots him. Another terrorist approaches to replace the first, and the peacemaker shoots him too. This scene plays out several more times. Then a terrorist approaches carrying a white flag, but he also has weapons. The peacemaker shoots him. A terrorist next approaches with a ceasefire resolution from the U.N. The peacemaker shoots him also. A large group of terrorists approach and the peacemaker shoots them all and drops a nuclear bomb on the city they came from. The peacemaker continues killing the terrorists until the terrorists are all dead.

There is finally peace on earth and the United Nations takes the credit."

She did tell me that some of the students sort of worshiped him.

Maybe after 30 years or so of that worship, it got to his head and he thinks he is the Lord's representative on Earth.

As such, he can say what he wants to whom he wants and no matter what he says he believes all will fall down and prostrate themselves and declare "Hossana" ?

This is a perfect example of what the Palestinians have to put up with

If the zionists were tackling someone like the Crusaders, there wouldn't be that many Jews left by now. The Palestinians are far more humane than that, which is why the conflict has lasted this long

It is my hope that we achieve a joint one-state solution and end the problem once and for all

The two-state solution will never work as neither side will agree to a proper division of the land

Um, what universe do you live in?

First of all, you can see that all of the other Rabbis asked had far more reasonable statements than this one.

And I really don't know what universe you are operating in where you think that the primary reason Israel still survives is because of Palestinian restraint. Because bombing buses, childrens' parties, discos and cafes full of civilians is a sign of being real humane. The primary reason that Hamas and similar groups haven't wiped out the Jews is because they don't have the resources pure and simple.

Friedman is out for attention, I guess he is just tired of "blushing" at his inexplicably low media profile... And this must be his own little personal "shock 'n awe" campaign. What a pathetic creature!

His answer is outrageous not only for its content, but also for the blatant disregard of the question that was posed to him. The astonishing chuzpah to say this in the name of Chabad really takes the cake! Why would any Jew not wish to live in peace and harmony with the followers of the only other unquestionably monotheistic religion? They most certainly would!

Friedman does not speak for Chabad, he certainly doesn't speak for the Rebbe's Chabad (the same Rebbe that instructed his followers in Israel to work with Muslim clerics to teach people about the Universal Moral Code of Noah, a common denominator of both faiths')

- cfkaMP

P.S. It is quite a stretch to call Friedman "a leader in Lubavitch". He was at one time a kiruv star, with neophyte women swooning at his mere site. He was also a talented speaker. But a "leader"? That he never ever was (nor will be)!

Instead, Friedman said that he chose to address a different question: how Jews should act "in time of war, when our neighbors attack us, using their women, children and religious holy places as shields

You are suggesting that perhaps he had a reasing comprehension problem and thought he was just answering about general war in which neighbors attack Jews and use civilians as shields, but he did not understand the question to be specifically about Arabs? Seems a bit coincidental, doesn't it?

This post saddens me. I held Rabbi Friedman in high esteem (still do despite this).
To play devil's advocate, isn't that what the Arabs are doing to the Jews? Killing the women, men, and children. Take over the holy sites.

Yes, extremist Jews can advocate terrorism just like extremist Muslims do. Both are wrong and it would be ironic for an extremist Jew to be upset that some Muslims choose to advocate terrorism.
