10:34 am: Let's Play My Favorite Game.

Which one is more crazy?

Door Number One:
Fun is goyishe so don't ask me if I like to have fun. From here.

Door Number Two:  Going to Walmart is a huge sexual nisyaon for me so please don't ask me to do your shopping. From here.

Door Number Three: Shaindy.com, the primier Orthodox cheating site, is now posting sex stories featuring incest and people named Moishe Shmiel, Hershy and Blimi. From here, but I wouldn't click on this at work. Or when you're eating. They are also looking for a Yiddish-speaking secretary. I'm guessing her name is going to have to be Blimi.

Door Number Four: The people involved in the Syrian money-laundering scam were just fulfilling veahavta lereacha kamocha. A true friend will help you bury the bodies. From here.

07:38 pm: The Dilemma Continues...

Whom should I believe on the Rabbi Glanz  jail  scandal?  The Zionist-controlled evil and Anti-Semitic goyishe media outlets or The Yeshiva World News?

A difficult choice. Was this chaplain guilty of grossly exploiting his position for the dregs of society? Or was he a hero in the mitzvah of Pidyon Shevuim, stopped only by a heartless and cruel mosser?

Frankly, I didn't really care much about this crazy story until YWN published the ridiculous editorial in the above link. I don't particularly care if all the allegations are accurate of if some people are exaggerating a bit. There's always allegations of special treatment for one group or another and maybe the truth is somewhere in between.

What ticks me off is that according to YWN, somehow it is now the wicked informant's fault that the poor frum inmates will not have their special privileges and will have to remain with the rest of the population where " who knows, lo aleinu, awaits these prisoners." The chillul Hashem, oddly, was not caused by the criminal behaviors of the frum Jews and not by the immoral actions of the chassidic chaplain. This horrible situation was actually caused by the informant and "only death can be mechaper the chillul Hashem."

Really now?

01:07 pm: Okay, Do You Believe Me Now?

I know people didn't believe me about the Craiglist's ads asking for frum men for orgies.

Well, here's Shaindy.com, a very specific website catering to "mostly frum married couples, who are looking for some excitement outside of their marriage. Some play solo, some play as a couple!" The site has 760 members whose profiles you can browse without registering. A nice chunk of these self-identify as chassidim.

Now listen up all you Rabbis and Mishmeret Hatznius People and Nosy Busybodies. Listen and listen well.

*I don't want to hear anything about  how my yiras shomayim  depends on when and where I choose to wear pants.

*I don't want to hear anything about  how the kashrus of my home depends on when and where I choose to cover my hair.

*I don't want to hear anything about why I shouldn't wear a bathing suit to the beach.

*I don't want to hear about how my preschool girls should be wearing long sleeves and tights in the summer.

*I am not interested in your drashos on kol isha, shmiras einayim or kol kevuda bas melech penima.

*I couldn't care less as to why you think women shouldn't be rabbis or cantors or lein from the Torah because it is so immodest.

*I don't give a crap whether you think I shouldn't have Newsweek or Time in my home because there may be an advertisement which features a non-tznius-dressed lady.

I don't want to hear about anything related even tangentially to tznius laws  until you all face up to the bigger problems in the frum community and deal with them.  All you judgmental people need to stop looking at my slits and necklines and elbows because your idiocy is beyond painful. After you fix the bigger issues, like say,  the growing market for extramarital services for the frum couple, then you can worry about  whether my pantyhose is thick enough. Until then, stick it where the sun don't shine.

Thank you.

P.S. Daas Hedyot asked me to mention his new series in which he introduces you to normal and sane people who have successful lives after leaving Orthodoxy. Can't imagine why anyone would want to leave orthodoxy, though.

P.P.S- the site keeps getting hacked into, try again in a few days if you can't access it now.

02:19 pm: Short Little Post: Total Disconnect.

Let's talk about total disconnect.

Compare this and this.

I really hope that the frum ladies hosting these orgies are being careful to cover their hair with a sheitel and not, G-d Forbid, a snood or a hat.

11:41 pm: Ooh, let's ban immodest bicyclists.

This post is dedicated to all my good friends who think that what you wear or what you eat is a good indicator of yiras shomayim.

So here is one story about some problems some Chassidim are having.

And here is another story about some problems some Chassidim are having.

Yes, as you might guess, I have my own theories on how these two stories are connected. But go ahead, I am open to hearing what you think. Do you really believe that these stories are completely coincidental? If not, how would you describe the relationship between the two situations?

06:23 pm:
We do not abandon our own, according to this plea.

Even if they are charged with some serious criminal behavior.

And are the head of the Crown Heights Community Council.

And have several federal indictments to your name.

Gosh, I guess I know whom to turn to in case I ever get caught doing massively illegal crap. I'm sure they will support me just as passionately as they do with this guy. Right?

ETA- the second link applies only to Shalom and not to Moshe.
ETA again- there are two men by the same name of Shalom Rubashkin who are both investigated/charged with different crimes.

09:23 am: Compartmentalizing...

Here's a thread in which a woman writes about how she converted fro Christianity to Judaism.  What I love most about it is how the original poster and some of the responders bash Christianity because "it makes no sense" :

I also looked at the world around me and realized there was no way that the Messiah had been here because look at this mess! And various other things about Xianity that make absolutely no sense (like if JC is G-d incarnate and JC is dead does that mean G-d is dead? ). I’m sure that I don’t have to convince any of you of the ridiculousness of Xianity.

I also wondered how anyone with a brain could be an Xtian... I just couldn't believe there could be something like the New Testament. But didn't G-d make a covenant with the Jews that would be kept no matter what. And no matter what the Jews did, Hashem insisted that he would keep the promise, in spite of the punishments and exiles that might occur. I just could no longer believe in a New Testament or which basically says that G-d chas v'shalom, scrapped the deal with the Jews...I didnt' want to believe in a god that breaks promises.

BTW, there are many more people out there who see the ridiculousness of Christianity but just don't know where to turn. That's why I think you're a lucky lady, Hadassah. You found the way home.

I find it so fascinating how seemingly intelligent people are quick to see inconsistencies and fundamental problems with the beliefs of others and yet completely ignore the same types of problems with their own beliefs. So there's nothing ridiculous about Judaism? As a Jew you don't believe in a God that breaks promises? You have completely resolved the many contradictions between what you read in the chumash and real life?

10:24 am: You gotta love it!

Count the black velvet yarmulkahs in this section of men who were arrested for soliciting an undercover officer. Article here.

And for everyone who is going to write some stupid crap about how every community has its bad apples and blah, blah, blah: Get this straight. I don't care if your husbands are porn addicts or visit hookers on a regular basis or even if they snort cocaine on yom kippur.

What I do care about is the extreme hypocrisy  and double standards of everyone involved, the men, the shuls, the rabbonim. If one of the pious wives of these gentlemen decided to wear jeans or uncover her hair or (gasp) attend a shul without a mechitza, you can bet that the next day her children would be expelled from their black hat schools and her husband would file for divorce. And that's in a nice community, where they won't damage her car or spray her with bleach. Because of course, yiddishe women can't behave or look like those terrible meshugeneh goyim, with their crazy clothes and attitudes. We are the chosen people, better, holier and smarter than everyone else.

And I'm still waiting for the Kol Koreh from the rabbonim about visiting prostitutes. So far, all I have are the ones about how all the problems in the world, famine, deaths, wars are attributed to women whose skirts slide slightly above their knees when they sit.

01:06 pm: How we decide whom to vote for

Ha-ha.

In this article, Rabbi Shafran explains that voting for Obama or Hillary based on race or gender is unacceptable and constitutes racism and sexism.  I don't know why he didn't just stop there. He goes on to contrast how the Jewish way of choosing a shaliach tzibbur is much more meaningful as it focuses on personal piety, familiarity with the services, etc.  And so, we should all learn from the halachos of choosing a shaliach tzibbur how to choose the leader of a country. Yep.

Now Rabbi Shafran is a smart man and he does indicate that he knows women don't participate in this role in Orthodox Judaism, but somehow this doesn't prevent him from continuing with this ridiculous argument.

Hey Rabbi Shafran. When you stop deciding whether or not a person can even be considered for the role of a shaliach tzibbur based on the presence or absence of  male body parts, then us simple womenfolk will set aside the kugel-making  and diaper-changing  to consider whether you have anything useful to say about how we decide whom to vote for.

10:08 pm: Wow, what can I say?

In the Beis Oilam that my father z"l is buried in in Eretz Yisroel there is a section for frum and not frum. But there is more than that, there is a section for shomer shabbos people who had a tv and shomer shabbos people who didn't have a tv.

 From here.

I would like to know more about the sections, to tell you the truth.
I guess I just wonder whether  there is  a section for  people who don't have a tv but cheat on their taxes? Is there a section for people who don't have a tv, have never accessed the internet but think that goyim are lower life-forms than them? Is there a section for people who don't have a tv, don't own cell phones or a modem, but also pay for their children to attend schools where a lack of basic literacy in the English language is a sign of gadlus b'Torah? Gosh, is there a section for rabbis who supported agunos and improved gittin rules versus those who supported bullet proof stockings and organized tznius patrols? Are there sections for rabbis who assur everything from televisions to birth control, but manage to support pedophiles?

What about heaven? Are there going to be separate sections for all these people? I sure hope so.
Maybe there's a new protocol up there in shamayim. Maybe instead of asking about kovah itim and tzedakah and all that stuff, they will ask me whether I prefered Desperate Housewives or American Idol.

10:27 pm: Spinka Dude

Yeah, each and every year my children's school hosts a grand celebration in honor of the Grand Spinka Rebbe.  This includes a gala fundraising dinner  and loads of pictures with the school administration.  Hard to believe the school did not know about this, the 750K  money-laundering scheme that this guy was running.

Of course,  this is all not even true. My children's school is not involved in any money laundering schemes. The truth of the matter is that the Left Wing Liberal Media has consipired with the so -called "federal agents" in an anti-Semitic scheme to make frum yidden look bad. Like they always do, you know.
